eviction3Even though you, as a tenant might think that a landlord has the power to evict you anytime that they way, there are certain steps that they need to go through.  Most of the time, when an eviction happens, the renter and the landlord have had some sort of misunderstanding and while it might be cleared up in just a few conversations, an eviction notice can be damaging to the landlord/tenant relationship piece.

One of the steps that the landlord needs to give you, as a renter before eviction is a grace period – not only to fix whatever the problems might be but for you to locate another place and for you to start moving.

The grace period is usually around thirty days and you do not have to pay the rent for that grace period, as you get getting out of the house.

Eviction from houseIf you are the landlord at a property, it can be very, very difficult for you to go through the eviction process.  Believe it or not, most landlords do not like to evict their tenants.  However, they want to make sure that they find someone that is not only going to treat their property with respect but also the landlord themselves with respect – that can be hard to find.

If you are looking to evict someone, there are quite a few steps that you are going to need to go through before you evict someone.  That is what we are talking to talk about in the next few blogs … how you can certainly evict someone and how to go through the process.

Firstly, you always need to make sure that before you sign a lease with someone, you are screening them – that way, you might not have to go through the eviction process.

That is why you need to make sure that you are constantly checking your e-mails, as that is one of the major reasons why prospects move on – for lack of communication via e-mail.  E-mail is a huge, huge tool that you should be using.

However, picking up the phone is something that you should be doing too, as many customers like that interaction as well.
